Most of us have experienced a break-up or the unexpected loss of a relationship that sends us into a downward spiral. We get totally depressed. Start staying home alone. Stop taking care of ourselves. Soon, because we don’t have the energy to clean up, everything is sprawled all over the floor. We can hardly get out of bed, so we begin sleeping away our days. Nothing seems to help. Our friends invite us out, but we decline. We’re just tired. We simply don’t have enough energy. We have no way out and it seems like we will stay there forever.
Then suddenly, one day, the phone rings. It’s our ex. That’s right, the one who dumped us. They’re crying and begging us to take them back. Now how are we doing? Seriously, how long does it take to get enough energy to jump out of bed, clean up around us, take a shower, and get some color back in our face? It’s practically instantaneous. We’re filled with energy the moment we hang up the phone. Ever wonder how this happens? We’re completely drained for months on end and then out of nowhere, in a matter of seconds, there is so much energy it blows us away.
The truth is that we have an infinite amount of inner energy that we can draw upon in any moment. How is this possible?
Let’s start with the basics. Energy flows through our bodies much like water flows through a tiered creek. There are several pools where the water swirls around before flowing on. These pools are like our energy centers. Pools of spiraling energy in our bodies. If nothing else is around, the creek flows pure and clear. However, life is messy, and things tend to fall in the creek blocking the flow of the water from one tier to the next. But if we open the paths between the pools then the energy flows. Each pool of energy has a purpose and can be blocked by emotional muck.
In order to understand this, lets first take an in-depth look at the physics behind these blocked energy patterns. Just like energy waves, the energy that comes into us must keep moving. But that doesn’t mean it can’t get blocked within us. There is a way that the energy can both keep moving and staying in one place---and that is to circle around itself. We see this in atoms and in planetary orbits. Everything is energy, and energy is constantly flowing and changing form.
If there is an internal block, energy cannot stand still, it must get in the dynamic of cycling around itself to stabilize. That’s why energy manifesting as an atom forms the basic building block of this entire physical universe. Energy cycles around itself, and as we’ve discovered, atoms have enough harnessed energy to blow up the world when that energy is released. But unless forced otherwise, the energy will stay harnessed because of its equilibrium state.
This process of cycling energy is exactly what happens with a stored trigger or traumatic memory. It is a cycle of stored past energy patterns in a state of relative equilibrium. It is our resistance to experiencing these patterns that causes the energy to keep cycling around itself. There’s no other place for it to go. We won’t let it. The more we resist these blocks the more the energy cycles around itself until enough energy is harnessed to trigger an angry outburst (anger is oftentimes sadness that had nowhere else to go), much like forcing the release of energy in atoms. This is how most of us process our issues.
It's important to remember that when we sit in the seat of consciousness, we have the power to utilize inner energy on purpose, with purpose.
Life is full of ups and downs, each experience carrying a unique emotional blueprint. But when we allow ourselves to experience without attachment or allow ourselves to feel and let go within the moment, we circumvent internal blocks and external excuses.
Stored energy patterns manifesting as inner energy blocks can often trigger excuses that feel real. They are not. Our mind is a powerful thing. So much, in, fact, that it can play tricks on us. The mind, coupled with the ego, will give us a million reasons, explained concisely and logically, as to why we cannot do what we set out to do. This is fear blocking inner energy. It is only as real as we allow it to be. The mind and ego collude to create drama because the ego loves theatre.
We can allow fear to work for us instead of against us.
What are you most afraid of? Let your fears become clear to you. These fears are not real. They are just a concern for survival. We must surrender our fears. Let your fears flow down the creek.
Yes, obstructions will get in our way. Uncertainty and fear are the inevitable distractions of a human life. We spend much of our time searching through this uncertainty—for love, success, fulfillment. What if we chose to allow these moments of uncertainty to become moments of teaching love, of transformation, and of letting go instead?
Commit to the notion that you are good enough.
Look at all the guilt which burdens your soul? What do you blame yourself for? Accept the reality that these things happen but do not let them cloud and poison your energy. If we are to be a positive influence on the world, we need to forgive ourselves.
Our soul will always be honest with us.
Once we quell our internal blocks and external distractions, the soul naturally embraces compassion, for both ourselves and the world. Our greatest tool is remembering. Remembering the inherent truths we forgot along the way—that love, compassion, and acceptance dissolve all barriers. That will and self-belief move mountains. That we are immeasurably worthy. That the universe is on our side.
When we clear inner energy blocks, we live in a constant state of flow.
Most of us have experienced flow. That feeling when the mind quiets, time stops, and we feel like were cruising down a highway where all the traffic has moved aside just for us. Rushes of inspiration flow out like endless waves. This is unobstructed inner energy. When we are aligned, our experiences allow energy to seamlessly flow through us. Imagine always being in this state!
There’s no need to close ourselves off. Being overly selective restricts our life. It’s time to release control.
Be open. Embrace randomness. We are everything. Literally.
